A RHINO is Coming to Linux with a Horn pointed towards SCO

The next enemy of SCO is the GPL itself, everyones favorite doctrine, the heart of Linux. But wait, around the corner a RHINO waits preparing to strike that final blow.
The battle for Linux wages and the RHINO leads the charge. Working on a sattire the other day, I was trying to come up with something that would signify the battle : RHINO ("Red Hat, IBM, Novell, Open Source") or the "R.H.I.N.O. War". (Helps to put a face on the battle) or - "R.H.I.N.O-S. War" - "Red Hat, IBM, Novell, Open Source, SCO" (Shared S for source and SCO")
So what is new in the war for the Penguin? SCO has now charged that the GPL is invalidated by US Copyright Laws. What does this mean for Linux users? On the whole not to much it seems. If SCO should win that fight, then a new version of the GPL would be written which protects open source software. No worries.
But this also has to make you wander one other thing. Has the battle entered a new phase? It appears SCO is no longer only attempting to stifle Linux, but attempting to destroy it. What was once a money war is turning into a blood war.
So the next question should be why? It is my belief that the war has turned emotional for SCO. The bad press and the continuing denial of service attacks has created a level of frustration that has lead to desperation. If SCO has become desperate, maybe they are begining to see their case is weak. Invalidating GPL may ultimately help them in their case against the RHINO team by filling a void in their case.
Open Source and Corporate America - Hand in Hand. The RHINO team, A Motley Crew if I have ever seen one. Good for us, bad for SCO! Long live the RHINO.
