Netscape 7.1. I just happen to like it.
Author: HumanX | Friday August 01, 2003
From time to time you will see critisms of the Netscape browser, threats of its domise and so on and so on. I want it to be known, I dig the Netscape Browser.
Netscape has lived a life that stories are made of. Netscape has made the poor rich and vice versa, it has suffered internal strife, buyouts, lawsuits, chapter 11 and everything else that makes for a good story. But regardless of anything and all else, Netscape persists and it is a great browser.
Where else can you go and download a free browser which supports all of the latest technologies and is filled with everything a novice or advanced user could possibly need. And best of all it is cross-platform and supports just about every operating system known to man.
What can you do with netscape? Netscape delivers email, a web browser of course, web development, advanced address books and much more through the many modules that are available for free.
Performance. Netscape is fast, as fast as any other browser and stable.
Netscape is here to stay. Netscape has huge support base, it is still backed by AOL(At least for now), it is open source, it is going nowhere. Netscape can be found at Netscapes website at http://www.netscape.com or http://www.netscape.com/downloads.
Side Note:
1. You can also download netscape via ftp ftp://ftp.netscape.com.
2. If you are a developer. You can run multiple versions of netscape on your computer., for backwards compatibility testing.
After Thought
Looking through my Log files, I see many people visit LinuxDig.Com with IE browsers! Over 70% of the visitors are IE users! THIS IS A LINUX SITE, with some MS info. Hey, for those curious about Linux, start using Netscape now and get used to it before the transition.
