THE $400 LINUX BOX
Author: HumanX | Friday January 24, 2003
LinuxDig.Com is working together with a well known trusted computer company to bring you a $400 Linux Workstation. That is one final price with shipping. Special Starts Feb 1., Read more.
This is actually an exciting oppurtunity to pick up a cheap machine and learn Linux. The final price could possibly be lower then $400, but for the moment that is what I am going to say. It is better to high ball.
The final specs of the workstation have not been completed but we are looking at a basic system with:
Duron/Celeron 933
Gigapro MB
Ethernet
Modem
CDROM
Floppy
16 Meg Video.
128 RAM
10 Gig HD
Mouse
Keyboard
RedHat 8
The systen is touted as a standard home or office workstation for surfers or office work. This is not meant to be a game machine, though nothing is stopping you from that either. I have already tested a couple of models and I am quite happy with what I think will be the final version.
What will make the final descision as to whether or not I move forward with this is the response from viewers of linuxdig.com.
So, if you or your company need a linux machine/s at a great price with network installed then send me an email at linuxdig@linuxdig.com or you can also contact me at the "Contact Linuxdig" on the navigation bar.
Just let me know if you think you would be interested. I will not contact you either if you do not want me to. When the time comes, we will provide a link to the company who will be actually building and selling the computers in coordination with linuxdig.com.
