random-access memory digital-to-analog convertor (RAMDAC)

1. A chip in the video adapter that converts three digital signals (one for each primary color) into one analog signal that is sent to the monitor. RAMDACs use on-board randomaccess memory (RAM ) to store information before processing it. From QUECID
