SSE (Streaming SIMD Extensions)
1. Internet Streaming SIMD (Single Instruction Multiple Data) Extensions are instructions that reduce the overall number of instructions required to execute a particular program task. As a result, they can boost performance by accelerating a broad range of applications, including video, speech, and image, photo processing, encryption, financial, engineering and scientific applications. NetBurst® micro-architecture adds 144 new SSE instructions, which are known as SSE2.
