Optoelectronics
1. Optoelectronics involves the manufacture of hardware devices that convert electrical signals into photon (or light) signals and vice versa. Examples of optoelectronic technologies are fiber optic communications, laser systems, electric eyes, remote sensing systems, medical diagnostic systems and optical information systems.
