GPS (Global Positioning System)
1. GPS is the satellite-based positioning technology that allows a GPS receiver to identify its location anywhere on Earth. GPS receivers can be found as handheld devices, installed in automobiles for navigational aids, and as modules that attach to Personal Data Assistants (PDAs), such as a PalmPilot*.
