GPRS (General Packet Radio Service)
1. GPRS is a standard for wireless communications that allows packets of data, such as e-mail and Web content, to travel across a wireless telephone network and to the Internet. GPRS is often referred to as \"2.5G\" technology (in comparison to first- generation (1G) wireless technology which is used for analog cell phones, and second-generation (2G) wireless technology which is used for digital cell phones). In addition to the GPRS cell phone, laptops can be enabled by adding a GPRS adapter to connect to the Internet.
