Clock Cycle
1. The speed at which a processor can execute instructions is known as the clock cycle or clock rate. This rate is expressed in gigahertz (GHz) with 1 GHz being equal to 1 billion cycles per second. The faster the clock, the more instructions the CPU can execute per second.
