CGI (Common Gateway Interface)1. An interface between a Web site and a user. It allows forms, surveys and other documents to be filled on-line and the results automatically sent to the web site's UNIX server. From Glossary of Distance Education and Internet Terminology 2. Used on Web servers to transmit data between scripts and/or applications and then return the data to the Web page or browser.
