Broadband
1. Broadband is the term applied to high-speed data transmission, such as cable, ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network), and DSL (Digital Subscriber Line). Broadband technologies provide faster connections to the Internet than traditional dial-up services. Broadband services deliver high-speed Internet access to households and businesses while freeing telephone lines for simultaneous traditional (voice) use. Using a broadband service with laptop or desktop PCs, users have high-speed access to the Internet, e-mail and more.
