3G
1. Analog cellular is a first generation mobile communications technology. Digital PCS is the current and second generation. The emerging third generation (3G) will provide increased bandwidth, up to 384 Kbps when a device is stationary or pedestrian speed, 128 Kbps in a car, and 2 Mbps in fixed applications. 3G will work with wireless air interfaces such as EDGE and GSM.
